Who We are
The Guardians of Our Dependents Foundation--
standing beside law enforcement families with unwavering compassion since 2009.

In Honor of Officer
Daniel Colondona
the why Guardians of Our Dependents was created to honor the life and legacy of Police Officer Daniel Colondona—a devoted husband, father, friend, and public servant whose faith, love, and dedication touched everyone around him.
Daniel was a devoted member of the Church of St. Mary, serving faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister. His deep faith guided him through life’s challenges and inspired all who knew him. His love for his family and his unwavering commitment to his fellow officers were at the heart of everything he did. Beyond his badge, Daniel gave back selflessly to his community, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
The foundation’s mission is carried forward by its founder—Daniel’s son—Danny—who has continued his father’s legacy in the most powerful way. Following in his father’s footsteps, he served as an Army Paratrooper and now proudly serves as a Suffolk County Police Officer in the Emergency Service Unit—the very same unit his father once served in.
In honor of his father’s sacrifice and legacy, he created The GOOD Foundation to support the families of fallen officers, ensuring they are never forgotten and never alone.
This foundation stands as a testament to Daniel’s unwavering spirit, his commitment to service, and the love he poured into every aspect of his life. Through its work, we honor Daniel by continuing his mission—fostering community, supporting others, and living with the same compassion, integrity, and dedication that defined his life.
